Up Nuang's Peak through Janda Baik - Part II

Another trail conquered. We had 2 missions: to find the trail to summit and to mark it for others.
We did both, and perhaps more.

Started at 9:30am, we brought along trail marker, a parang that could hardly kill and an eager
spirit with us. It took us 2 hours from the entry point to reach the second river, 30 minutes
more than usual as we were strolling to mark the trail.

Once at the second river, it was 11:30am. We took a left and the never ending trail ensued.

Instead of the 3 hours suggested by a blog, it took us 5 hours from the second river along with
tons of (misguided) expectation, frustration and resistance to reach the summit. It was already
3:30pm by the time we reached.

That kinda explain why there were so little photos taken. I wasn't even in the mood.

Had a quick lunch at the much vandalized summit, then packed up and started or descend
at 4pm.

Well, we practically rolled ourselves down all the way as it was getting dark. It took us
less than 3.5 hours to reach the base and it was still bright! The journey up took us 7 hours!
Don't ask me how that happened.

Oh well, another trail conquered and I'm happy.

Is Janda Baik's trail easier than Pangsun/Hulu Langat's? NO!

Clockwise: a bug similar to the one we saw in Mt. Stong, lived underground for
3 years and surfaced for 3 days to transform and die.

Beauty, red-ass ant and a lost blood sucker. Did I tell you we were practically
in Leech country?

Mr. Muscles put the parang to (good) use. John puts his masculinity aside and
put on a pair of female stocking, mainly to prevent from leech attacks.
